As an advocate for all aspiring writers, TKA strives to encourage, educate, and inspire all those who love the craft of the written word. With writers all over the world, we decided that the best avenue for reaching out is through the internet. We hope that you will find our community a warm, inviting, and safe place to discuss your questions, concerns, joys, and sorrows.

Here are the four areas where we currently offer assistance:

Agency Blog
The Knight Agency blog is a great resource for information about publishing in general. It is also the hub of information for all that is transpiring through the agency and often the publishing world. We announce chats, news, deals, and have guest bloggers, agent reflections, and much more (with the occasional funny anecdote).

Agency Newsletter
The Knight Agency Newsletter is a monthly e-publication, arriving in your inbox the first of every month. It includes such sections as: TKA News, Upcoming Chat Schedule, Upcoming Client Releases, and Looking Ahead. The newsletter is free and easy to sign up for. Follow this link to get your newsletter!

Chat
TKA Chats are a great way to get answers from people who know the business. Chat Stars range from authors to booksellers to editors and beyond. Generally, the chats are held Eastern Time on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Please sign up for the monthly e-newsletter for upcoming stars and dates. Still, it’s always a good idea to check the blog for last minute time changes and announcements (often giveaways) concerning the chats.

*To enter the chat room, follow this link (http://client1.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=115545), enter a screen name and simply select “login.”

*Rules of Play: To keep things organized, the chats are all moderated. The moderator will begin by posting the following rules of play: when you have a question, simply type a “?” and the moderator will keep a list and call on you when it is your turn.

*Chat tips:
Always check the blog for any last minute announcements concerning the chat.
When waiting on your turn, type your question in Word or another application so when it is your turn you only have to copy and paste. (Keeps the chat running smoothly)
Click on any screen name in the list to open a Private Message conversation (a lot like AIM).

Agency Groups
Here we post the agency calendar with such events as chats and conferences. We also send out announcements when events change or big news happens in the publishing world. Please note, you can set your settings to determine how many announcements you will receive. Finally, one of the biggest assets of the joining the e-group is access to the chat transcripts. Approximately twenty-four hours past any TKA chat, a color coded, downloadable transcript will be posted in the “files” section of the e-group as well as an announcement to the e-group and on the blog of the transcript’s posting.

Are you involved in a reading group? Thinking of starting your own? Here at the agency, we would love to help your group(s) connect with our authors! How? Well that depends on each author’s schedule, but among the possibilities are visit in person, online chat, interviews, Q&As, etc… Please follow this link for more information!
